Ever thought you'd like to drive by ferry to Iceland, enjoy the voyage and arrive next day just as you would to Continental Europe or Scandinavia? Ever dreamt of driving on open roads in a country the same size as England but with only 300,000 people living there? Of seeing glaciers and geysers, waterfalls and whales? Of every corner yielding a different vista? Of picking accommodation to suit your purse and passions? Of enjoying fish fresh from the sea and lamb to die for? Of turning your holiday in to something of an odyssey? Well now for the very first time you can.

After inaugurating the first ever sailings from the UK mainland to Iceland and the Faroe Islands last year, Smyril Line's MS Norrona will now sail weekly to Iceland every Wednesday morning from June 18th 2008, leaving from Scrabster on the Caithness coast close to the Castle of May and docking at lunchtime the following day in Seydisfjordur on Iceland's East coast.

And after spending a week or two touring Iceland, you can turn your holiday into something of a Viking Odyssey with the several options available for your return to the UK.

You can either:

• Return to the Faroe Islands for 3 nights staying in Torshavn or touring the Archipelago, before continuing back to Scrabster on the 'Norrona'.  
   
• Return to Hanstolm via Torshavn staying for 1 or more nights in Denmark before crossing to Harwich from Esbjerg on DFDS's 'Dana Sirena'.
   
• Return to the Faroe Islands for 3 nights and sailing on to Bergen for a fjord tour of Norway before returning back to Scrabster on the 'Norrona' or to Newcastle on DFDS's 'Prince of Scandinavia'.
   
• Return to the Faroe Islands for 3 nights sailing to Bergen and touring Norway, Sweden and Denmark before returning back to Harwich from Esbjerg on DFDS's 'Dana Sirena'.
