THE ICE HOTEL

DAY 1 UK - STOCKHOLM Scheduled SAS flight to Stockholm. Private transfer to and overnight in a harbour view room at Hotel Reisen in Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s old town. Explore its cobbled alleyways, take in the Royal Palace, dine on scented reindeer or just relax in the hotel’s luxury spa.

DAY 2 STOCKHOLM - ICE HOTEL Breakfast in the hotel before private transfer to the airport for a late morning flight Kiruna and transfer to Jukkasjarvi and the Hotel. On arrival, check in and lunch at the local Inn, after which collect thermal clothing and take a guided tour of the Ice Hotel and environs. Later, start the evening with a guided snowmobile tour through the forest with (hopefully) the Northern Lights in the sky above. Traditional Sami supper at a wilderness encampment before returning to Jukkasjarvi. Then, it’s into the “Absolut Ice Bar” to enjoy special drink – a “Northern Lights” or a “Wolf’s Paw” – before retiring to your Art Suite, specially sculpted and individually themed by an award winning ‘ice artist’ and with a double sleeping bag, for the most unusual night of your life.

DAY 3 ICE HOTEL Wake up to a hot cloudberry juice, take a sauna (optional) and breakfast across at the Inn. Afterwards, get ready for your reindeer sled safari through the forest and across the fells to a “Lavvo” (tent) for a traditional Sami lunch by an open fire before returning to Jukkasjarvi. In the afternoon, you can choose optional excursions either by husky or snowmobile. The final night of your “Classic Ice Weekend” is spent either in a Kaamos, Nordic or Northern Lights room. The local Inn serves Lapp specialities and has both table d’hôte and à la carte menus.

DAY 4 ICE HOTEL - UK Breakfast at the Inn. Morning free for a brief walk around the village, with its traditional Sami buildings and church, before transfer to Kiruna airport and return flight(s) via Stockholm to the UK.
