DAY 1 UK- REYKJAVÍK Scheduled Icelandair flight to Reykjavík and transfer to the Northern Light Inn, adjacent to the Blue Lagoon. Time for a bathe before dinner at the hotel.

DAY 2 REYKJAVÍK - BORGARNES After breakfast, you take off down the Reykjanes peninsula and up to Geysir with its spouting water geysers and bubbling mud pits and a stop for lunch. From there to Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall, with its foaming waters dropping down a double fall into a gorge. Then up on to Langjökull via one of its glacial tongues for an hour long snowmobile scoot across this giant ‘ice rink’. Continue alongside Lake ingvallavatn with its lead grey waters glistening in the winter sun (hopefully) and to Borgarnes for overnight at Hotel Hamar.

DAY 3 BORGARNES - REYKJAVÍK Today your Super Jeeps will cross over the Snæfellsnes mountain ridge to Stykkisholmur, a little port with clapboard wooden houses characteristic of the Norwegian ones built there some 200 years ago. Stop for lunch and then circumnavigate the peninsula through Grundafjörur, Ólafsvík and Hellissanur overseen en route by a kaleidoscoply coloured mountain spine and the ‘eternal pyramid of snow’ at the peninsula’s tip. Stop along the coast at Arnarstapi with its rock arches and basalt rocks and Buir with its small but perfectly formed Lutheran spired church. Drive on under Borgarfjörur, the whale fjord, and overnight at the Leifur Eiriksson.

DAY 4 REYKJAVÍK – UK Breakfast at your hotel, early morning at leisure and transfer to Keflavík for return flight to London.
